Create cinema-quality productions with the Canon EOS C300 Mark III Digital Cinema Camera, which features a Super 35mm Dual Gain Output sensor with up to 16 stops of high dynamic range capability for superior HDR recording and low noise.

The EF lens mount offers compatibility not only with Canon’s existing broad range of DSLR lenses but also with their line of EF-mount cinema prime, zooms, and even 2.0 and 1.33 anamorphic lenses.

The mount is also interchangeable with a separately available PL mount by the end user.

Dual Pixel CMOS Autofocus with Touch AF and Face Detection
The Cinema EOS C300 Mark III features Canon’s Dual Pixel CMOS AF Technology.
For DAF, each pixel in the camera’s CMOS sensor is configured with two photodiodes.

Two independent image signals can then be detected at each photosite and compared using phase difference to provide autofocus with compatible lenses.

DAF can survey the scene and recognize not only whether the subject is in focus or not, but in which direction (near or far), and by how much.

DAF also powers the intuitive Focus Guide for users who prefer to focus manually but enjoy the positive feedback DAF provides through the guide interface.

High Frame Rate; 4K 120p and 2K CROP 1080p
The EOS C300 Mark III is capable of ultra-high frame rates with its new chip design and DiG!C DV7 processor. Frame rates up to 120 fps can be obtained in 4K, while 2K CROP mode provides even greater flexibility with speeds up to 180 fps.

Canon EU-V2 Overview

The Canon EU-V2 Expansion Unit 2 mounts onto your C500 Mark II camera and provides a V-mount battery mount for power as well as ports that expand the capabilities of your camera.

The expansion unit adds five ports: Genlock/Sync Out, Remote B (RS-422), Ethernet, DC Out (24V, 2A), and a lens control port.

 

This unit expands your C500 Mark II for work as a full-sized production camera, adding two 3-pin XLR connectors for audio input. The V-mount battery plate incorporates a D-Tap output for powering accessories.

The Genlock/Sync Out port accepts a genlock signal that slaves your camera to the same time base as the other equipment receiving the genlock signal.

The Remote B port allows you to control your camera using RS-422 protocol, while the Ethernet port allows you to connect your camera to a LAN for control and live streaming applications.

The DC out port provides power for accessories, while the lens control port allows you to interface with select lenses. The ports have rubber covers to protect the connectors from dust intrusion when not in use.

Genlock is the backbone of live/broadcast production as it ensures that all the production equipment, cameras, and switchers, are running in phase with each other. This prevents jumping images or black frames when switching between sources.

The expansion unit can power its ports as well as your camera via the built-in V-mount. However, you cannot power the adapter from the camera, as the XLR connectors, DC power port, and lens port can only be supplied power from a V-mount battery and not from the camera body.
